A bundle of stories to whisper
Eleven female artists ranging in age from four to 70 meet in a room of a thousand silks. Each seems to carry a secret knowledge, a bundle of stories to whisper. They are at once beginnings, desires and powers. Through their sometimes playful, sometimes strange metamorphoses, they celebrate informality, secrecy and irreverence.
After the success of White Out (Zones 2019) and Le musée de la famille (Zones 2021), L’eau du bain returns to Zones with a brand new creation. Much like its previous show La chambre des enfants, the company imagines this time a “girls’ and women’s room” where moments of affection, transmission, violence, and above all humour emerge. The creators assemble a small community to explore the notions of mutual support, feminine solidarity and even rivalry through performative explorations and improvised discussions. This not-to-be-missed event highlights L’eau du bain’s distinctive approach, where the stage becomes the creative locus of an uninhibited universe.
Founded by Nancy Bussières, Anne-Marie Ouellet and Thomas Sinou, L’eau du bain uses a hybrid artistic language that blends theatre, performance and sound installation. For each new work, new rules are determined and new devices invented to support the interaction between the space, the soundscape, the performers, the text, the audience, and elements of reality.
